About Cloud-Sliver
Cloud-Sliver was founded to solve a specific problem: Fractal Computing’s technology is transformative, but operating it at enterprise scale requires deep, specialized expertise that most organizations cannot build in-house.
Our Story
Cloud-Sliver was founded by enterprise infrastructure engineers who spent years watching organizations struggle with a common pattern: they evaluated Fractal Computing, recognized its transformative performance and safety advantages, and then stalled — not because the technology wasn’t ready, but because they didn’t have the operational expertise to run it.
Fractal’s architecture is fundamentally different from anything most infrastructure teams have operated before. There is no centralized database. Data and compute are co-located across a distributed node cluster. Synchronization pipelines must be designed, tuned, and monitored with an understanding of Locality Optimization principles that take time to learn and understand.
Organizations were completing the implementation, and then discovering they had no one to hand the running environment to. The technology worked. The operational model didn’t.
Cloud-Sliver is the answer to that problem. We built the operational expertise, the tooling, the monitoring systems, and the support organization needed to run Fractal infrastructure to enterprise SLA standards — and we deliver it as a managed service, so our customers can capture every advantage of Fractal technology without building a specialized ops team.
How We Operate
We do not offer consumer or SMB hosting. Every Cloud-Sliver customer is a large enterprise or government organization with mission-critical workloads.
We treat every hosted environment as if it is the most important system our customer operates — because for most of them, it is.
Our SLAs are written to be enforceable, not aspirational. Credits are applied automatically. We do not make customers file claims to receive remedies they are owed.
Every Cloud-Sliver engineer who touches production infrastructure has completed Fractal architecture training and operated Fractal clusters through at least one full deployment lifecycle.
Fractal runs on commodity hardware with no proprietary cloud dependencies. If a customer chooses to move their Fractal environment in-house, we will support that transition.
Technology Partnership
Cloud-Sliver is an authorized hosting partner of Fractal Computing — the only designation Fractal awards to managed service providers that have demonstrated the operational expertise to run Fractal infrastructure at enterprise scale.
The Authorized Hosting Partner designation is not a reseller agreement. It is an operational certification. Fractal Computing evaluates the infrastructure practices, monitoring capabilities, engineering team expertise, and deployment track record of organizations seeking the designation.
Cloud-Sliver earned the designation in 2024 after completing a rigorous technical review with Fractal’s engineering team. The review examined our node provisioning procedures, synchronization pipeline architecture, monitoring coverage, incident response capabilities, and upgrade procedures.
As an authorized partner, Cloud-Sliver works directly with Fractal Computing’s engineering team on new Fractal releases before they are generally available. We validate new versions in our staging environments against production-scale workloads before deploying to customer clusters. Our customers benefit from a Fractal upgrade process that has already been de-risked.
What the partnership means for customers: when you host with Cloud-Sliver, you are running on infrastructure operated by an organization that Fractal Computing itself has certified as technically capable of doing so to enterprise standards.
Authorized Partner Benefits
As an Authorized Fractal Computing Hosting Partner, Cloud-Sliver has direct access to resources and support that non-authorized providers do not.
How We Work
Three principles shape every decision we make about how Cloud-Sliver operates — from how we staff support to how we write SLAs.
We do not publish performance claims we cannot demonstrate with your data. Every proof of concept produces real numbers from your production workload. If Fractal isn’t the right fit, we will tell you before you sign a contract.
Hosting companies often treat operations as overhead. We treat it as the product. Our engineers are measured on uptime, incident response time, and mean time to recovery — not on the number of customers provisioned.
We operate your Fractal infrastructure. We do not analyze, monetize, or share your application data. Your data is yours. Our role is to keep the infrastructure running at the performance and availability levels your business requires.
Whether you are evaluating Cloud-Sliver for your organization or want to understand more about how we operate, we are happy to talk.
